In the past I’ve written that the return of the Mountain Bluebirds is a sure sign of Spring’s return. They were the only blue-colored birds that visited our previous home with any regularity. During the past year we moved to a new place, about 25 miles further east along the Musselshell River. Spring now greets us with a different variety of wildlife, including a few additional blue-colored birds. Fortunately, we still get to enjoy the Mountain Bluebirds, but they have a little more competition for our attention!
Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881) , a Scottish philosopher, wrote; “Creation lies before us like a glorious rainbow: but the Sun that made it lies behind us hidden from us. Nature is the living visible garment of God.” The incredible beauty and diversity of nature lends credence to his words.
