I have added some additional bird images to the Birds of the Heavens gallery. The new photographs include an American Kestrel, White Crowned Sparrow, House Wren, Great Horned Owl, Hairy Woodpecker and a Downy Woodpecker. All of these were taken on my travels through Montana and Wyoming.
Since taking up photography as a hobby a couple years ago, I have considered various options for sharing images, as well as my thoughts and experiences while capturing them. Managing websites is something I have experience with, but wasn’t sure I wanted to commit to that again. Over the past several months I have perused a number of photography blogs, both good and not so good. It wasn’t until I this afternoon when I had a little time to kill while my truck was being worked on, that I spent a couple hours at Barnes and Noble browsing through photography books and stumbled on a book about WordPress. The author, David Busch, has written several photography books that I have found very useful, so I sat down and spent a little time with “David Busch’s Quick Snap Guide to Photoblogging with Word Press.”
Seemingly a cheap and easy way to get my feet wet in this segment of social media, I decided to give it a go. I’m not sure how often I will be updating this blog, primarily because I have a lot to learn about how this thing works. At the least I intend to make weekly entries, including a favorite image or two from my travels. I find the uniqueness and diversity of God’s natural creations fascinating, and hope to share with you my passion and appreciation for His Creation.
